HISTORY
Poulsen Hardware first started out prior
to 1950 in a building on the east side of
highway 85 in Eaton Colorado, that
building has long since been torn down.
The business was purchased in the 1950's by
Ray Poulsen, who ran the day to day
business until about 1975, when he suffered
a severe stroke that left him paralyzed.
The Business
was then sold to Bob
Quick, who with his wife Gwen ran the store until
1984,
when John & Russ
Heppner purchased it.
The long standing reputation was that the
store "had everything" and "if we didn't have it, you didn't need
it". John and Russ have put many hours into improving the store by
upgrading the inventory mix, creating a competitive structure, merchandising the
products, and building customer confidence.
Poulsen Hardware became "Poulsen Ace
Hardware" in 1989, when the decision was made
to affiliate with Ace
Hardware™, the world's largest dealer owned buying group.
Poulsen Hardware has enjoyed very good
growth over the years. In January of 1994
they moved into their current new
location with three times the floor space of the previous building.
Our goal is to provide a high level of
customer service and value to our community.
